Should I get started with the meadow extension or just "New console app"?

The docs have two different ways of getting started, the first below that is newer but doesn’t connect to the device, the second that is older but does connect. I want to use the latest, but am confused. and it does no good if it doesn’t connect to my device. help?

  1. The docs at the link below say to just create a new console app, which creates a dotnet core 3 app, but doesn’t connect to my device.

  1. This page in the docs creates an older dotnet standard 2 app, but does connect to the device and run.

Hey John, those instructions are out of date. Check out the main getting started instructions here: Wilderness Labs Developer Portal

The extension has Meadow templates that will get you up and running in no time.

Also, if you wouldn’t mind, it would be great if you could file an issue on the docs repo here: Issues · WildernessLabs/Documentation · GitHub

Thanks!
